Our Story

A Nurse. A Promise. A Mission Born.

Truly Pediatric Home Care, LLC was founded in 2020 by Marchelle Hopson, RN — a pediatric nurse with a deep passion for caring for children with complex medical needs in the comfort of their own homes.

Marchelle spent years working bedside and in the field, building bonds with patients and families that went far beyond the clinical. It was through those relationships — especially the one with Austin, a young patient she cared for over several years — that the vision for Truly Pediatric took shape.

When Austin passed in September 2020, Marchelle channeled her grief into purpose. She founded Truly Pediatric Home Care to honor his memory and meet a very real community need: skilled, compassionate, nurse-led pediatric home care for Ohio families who had nowhere else to turn.

Founded

Truly Pediatric Home Care is Established

Marchelle Hopson, RN launches the agency in Dayton, Ohio — inspired by her patients and a promise to meet the community's need for skilled pediatric home nursing.

2021

Growth

First Clinical Staff & Families Served

The first RNs and LPNs join the team. The agency begins serving pediatric patients across the Dayton area, building the foundation for statewide growth.

2022

Certification

Ohio Medicaid Waiver Certification

Truly Pediatric becomes a certified Ohio Medicaid Waiver provider, expanding access to care for families across the state who rely on waiver programs to fund skilled nursing at home.

Accreditation

CHAP Accreditation Achieved

Truly Pediatric earns full accreditation through the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) — one of the most rigorous national standards for home health agencies.

2024

Recognition

Ohio MBE & WBE Certification

The agency receives official certification as an Ohio Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), reflecting its founding values and leadership.

2025

Expansion

DODD Certification & Statewide Reach

Truly Pediatric becomes a certified Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) provider and expands services statewide, serving families in counties across Ohio.

Truly Transport Launches

Fighting for Ohio Families

Truly Pediatric Home Care is more than a nursing agency — we are advocates for the families and communities we serve. Marchelle and the team show up at the statehouse, in the community, and at the bedside to fight for the resources and policies that children with complex needs deserve.

We partner with state officials, community organizations, and healthcare coalitions to expand access to pediatric home care across Ohio. We attend job fairs, community events, and advocacy meetings because we believe our work doesn't end at the front door.

Marchelle Hopson

Founder & CEO | Registered Nurse (RN) | Director of Nursing

Marchelle Hopson, RN is a lifelong advocate for pediatric patients and the families who love them. With years of clinical experience in pediatric home nursing, she built the relationships and insight that led her to found Truly Pediatric Home Care in 2020.

Her nursing philosophy is deeply personal and faith-based — she believes that every child she cares for is placed in her life with purpose. That belief shaped not just her approach to nursing, but the culture of every nurse and aide she has hired and trained.

As CEO and Director of Nursing, Marchelle oversees clinical standards personally, ensuring that every family Truly Pediatric serves receives the same level of compassion and excellence she would give her own family.
